About Jason Matloff
Jason Matloff has been writing about movies for more than a decade.
He was on staff at Premiere magazine for several years, where he wrote features and a monthly column called “Scene Stealer,” in which a notable character actor would discuss many of his or her films. He also edited the previews section and idol chatter column. Since Premiere was shut down, Matloff’s articles and interviews have appeared in The Los Angeles Times, Empire, The Boston Globe, Spin, and the Hollywood Reporter. He is also the coauthor, alongside Spike Lee, of the recently released Los Angeles Times Bestseller Spike Lee: Do the Right Thing, which features an extensive oral history of the making of the classic film.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Matloff graduated from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema-Television. He currently lives in Manhattan with his wife and two kids.
